Williams, Mashruwala Compete on Final Day of CSA Individual Championships
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- In the final day of the
CSA Individual Championships, Bethan Williams earned a 3-1 victory
in the consolation bracket of the Ramsay Cup to clinch a 17th-place
finish in the 'A' draw at the Simon Squash Courts on the campus of
Williams.
Williams, who completed her season with a 15-3 record, topped
Penn's Alisha Turner in four sets. Williams, a Crimson
sophomore, won the first game, 9-3, but Turner took the next one,
9-5, to tie the match. Williams went on to clinch her victory
against her Ivy League opponent with consecutive 9-1 decisions in
the third and fourth games.
Alisha Mashruwala also competed Sunday, but fell in the ninth-place
match in the 'A' draw of the Ramsay Cup in three straight
games. Facing Trinity's Nayelly Hernandez-Perez, Mashruwala
fell 9-5, 9-0, 9-7 to earn 10th. Mashruwala finishes her
season with a 14-3 overall mark.
