AUSTIN, Texas. – Putting an exclamation mark on a tremendous Harvard career, senior defender Marie Becker of the women's soccer team has been selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America second team.
The Academic All-America honor is the first in Becker's career, though Becker has been recognized as an academic all-district recipient twice as well. On the field, Becker was one of the top defenders in the Ivy League. She helped the Crimson to an astonishing 30 shutouts over her four seasons, including six as a team captain this season.
Becker is women's soccer's first Academic All-American since 2011, when Melanie Baskind '12 earned the honor for her second time. Harvard women's soccer tallied an 8-8-1 mark in 2017-18.
