Kowal to Attend U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team Camp

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Harvard junior
defender Lindsey Kowal will participate at the U.S. Under-23
Women's National Team Camp at the The Home Depot Center in Carson,
Calif., Jan. 9-16.
Kowal, who attended the Under-21 camp in Florida in 2010, will
serve as co-captain of the Crimson, along with junior midfielder
Melanie Baskind, during the upcoming 2011 campaign. Kowal, a native
of East Meadow, N.Y., is a three-time All-Ivy League choice after
garnering All-Ancient Eight first-team status in 2010.
Kowal, who started all 17 games for Harvard last season, also
earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)
All-Region honors. She netted the game-winning goal off a free kick
against Cornell Oct. 9, and also assisted on a score at Penn Sept.
24, helping Harvard finish 9-7-1 overall and 4-3 in the Ivy
League.
