Kurcz Tabbed Ivy League Rookie of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Freshman defender Taryn Kurcz
has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, the conference
announced Monday afternoon. Kurcz, a native of Agoura Hills,
Calif. has continued her stellar play on defense this season,
helping Harvard allow only one total goal in wins last week against
Fairfield and Cornell.
Kurcz and the Crimson defense allowed only one goal and seven shots
in a 4-1 win over Fairfield Tuesday. Against Cornell, Kurcz gave
the Crimson a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute on the first goal of her
career. Kurcz headed ball off a corner into the net on the play.
Harvard went on to shut out Cornell, 2-0, and earn its fourth
straight victory.
Kurcz and the Crimson host Brown Saturday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m.
Harvard stands at 2-0 in the Ivy League and 5-5-1 overall.
