Jun 24, 2009

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Ray Leone, entering his third season as head coach of the Harvard women's soccer team, has announced that the Crimson will welcome 10 freshmen to the squad for the upcoming 2009 season.

The incoming class consists of four defenders, two midfielders, two forwards and two goalkeepers. Three players hail from Massachusetts, two from California and one each comes from New Jersey, Illinois, Hawaii, Michigan and Utah.

With the addition of 10 newcomers, the Harvard women's soccer team, the defending Ivy League champion, boasts a roster of 31 players, as it looks to advance to the NCAA tournament for the second straight year. Last fall, Harvard completed the season with a 10-3-5 record and was 5-1-1 in Ivy League play.
