Kowal Invited to U.S. Women's National Team Under-23 Camp
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Harvard defender Lindsey
Kowal was recently invited to the U.S. Under-23 Women's National
Team cap, held June 12-19 at the Premier Soccer Academies. Kowal, a
rising sophomore, was one of 24 players and seven defensemen
invited to the camp by head coach Bill Irwin. The squad is
comprised entirely of collegiate-aged players.
Kowal, an All-Ivy League honorable mention selection last fall,
started all 17 games she appeared in during her rookie season. A
native of East Meadow, N.Y., Kowal helped Harvard win the Ivy
League title and was a key member of the Crimson's defense that
allowed only 18 goals in 18 games. Kowal and the Crimson reached
the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2004.
