Peppelman, Keith Featured in Rankings

Peppelman dropped two spots in the rankings while Keith makes his first career appearance (Gil Talbot).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Juniors Walter Peppelman and Steven Keith have been featured in this week's Division I Rankings, two days after the duo earned a pair of third-place finishes at the Binghamton Open.

Peppelman dropped two spots from fifth to seventh in this week's rankings at 157 lbs. The co-captain posted a 4-1 record on Sunday at the Binghamton Open to take third, including a 12-0 major decision and a fall which came just 37 seconds into his consolation semifinal bout. His lone loss was at the hands of No. 6 Justin Lister, 6-5.

Keith moved into the rankings at No. 20 after his third-place showing in Binghamton. Keith went 5-1 in the 133 pound bracket with a 12-1 major decision in the third-place match. This marks the first time Keith has been featured in the InterMat rankings.

Peppelman, Keith and the rest of the Crimson will return to the mat Sunday, Nov. 20 at the Keystone Classic in Philadelphia, Pa. Harvard will face stiff competition in the City of Brotherly Love, with No. 7 American, No. 16 Penn, No. 24 Northwestern, Appalachian State, Boston University, Brown, Duke, Princeton, Rider and VMI each scheduled to compete. A total of 18 ranked wrestlers could find their way to the mat with the 157 lbs. bracket shaping up to be the one to watch. In addition to Peppelman, the 157 lbs. bracket could contain No. 3 Jason Welch of Northwestern and No. 4 Ganbayar Sanjaa of American.
