Jay Weiss Selected to Participate in NCAA Coaches Forum
The David G. Bunning Head Coach for Harvard Wrestling Jay Weiss
has been selected as one of the presenters at the NCAA's first
Student-Athlete Development Coaches Forum, to be held in Lake Buena
Vista, Fla., from May 27-29.
Weiss was among a group of coaches selected to present at the
forum, which is designed to provide a development opportunity for
college students who are interested in becoming coaches following
graduation. This year, the first year of the program, focuses on
the sports of bowling, soccer, swimming and diving and wrestling.
"I am excited to be a part of this inaugural forum for students
who want to become college coaches," Weiss said. "It's a great way
to help mentor our future leaders. I believe it was only a matter
of time before an event of this nature came about and will only
become a better tool for future collegiate leaders."
Participants will hear programs on the areas of program
management, eligibility, budgeting, student-athlete well-being,
diversity, championship play and committee structure. Weiss will
combine with four other coaches in presenting programs entitled,
"Coaching: The Big Picture" and "Building Your Program."
