ECAC RELEASE

DANBURY, Conn. – Senior women's lacrosse student-athletes Marina Burke and Marisa Romeo have been selected to the All-ECAC second team, as announced by the conference office Tuesday, May 16.

Romeo is a four-time IWLCA All-Northeast Region and All-Ivy League selection. The Syracuse, New York native capped her stellar career with a season for the record books in 2017. She became just the 10th player in program history with 50 goals in a season and her 75 points ranks sixth all-time in Crimson history. She finished her career with 229 points, becoming only the fourth player in program history to eclipse 200 for her career. She recorded a hat trick in 12 games this season and had seven points in three games.

Burke, a first team all-region and All-Ivy selection this season, has been one of the toughest defenders in the Ancient Eight during her career. This season she led the Crimson with 28 caused turnovers and was second in ground balls with 31, figures that rank sixth and 13th in the Ivy League, respectively. In addition to posting career-highs in both of categories, she also had a new career-high with 16 draw controls and matched her scoring-best with five goals.
