CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore goalie Kelly Weis of the Harvard women's lacrosse team has been named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Weis, who hails from Garden City, N.Y., made a career-high 13 saves in Harvard's 15-6 win over Marquette March 15. Weis, who stopped nine shots in the second half alone, also finished the game with a caused turnover and two ground balls.
She stands at 3-2 on the year with an 8.61 goals-against average and 44 saves to go along with a .506 save percentage.
Weis and the Crimson visit No. 3 Syracuse Tuesday, March 18 at 7 p.m.
