Keating, Newman Selected 2014 Women’s Lacrosse Captains

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Rising seniors Kyleigh Keating and Chelsey Newman have been chosen by their teammates as co-captains for the 2014 Harvard women's lacrosse season.

Keating, a native of Windham, N.H., played in all 14 games last season, scoring 16 goals and handing out seven assists for 23 points. A midfielder, Keating paced the Crimson with 53 draw controls, posting a career-high with eight at Brown April 6. At Stanford Feb. 24, Keating amassed four points, tallying two goals and dishing out two assists to tie her career-best.

A product of Wading River, N.Y., Newman, an attacker and midfielder, saw action in 13 games last spring. She finished with four tallies, including two in a victory over Columbia April 28. Newman tied her career-best with three points at Boston College April 17 and had three draw controls at Holy Cross April 10.
