Jeff Pellegrini joined the Harvard coaching staff in the summer of 2011 and will spend his first season behind the bench in 2011-12. Pellegrini comes to Harvard after two years as the men's assistant coach at Bowdoin.

In two years with the Polar Bears, Pellegrini helped the squad earn back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances. The 2009-10 season saw Bowdoin capture the NESCAC regular-season title, and Pellegrini helped the Polar Bears to a league-best 19 wins and an NCAA quarterfinal berth in 2010-11.

Prior to his stay at Bowdoin, Pellegrini served as the men’s assistant hockey coach at UMass Boston from 2006 to 2009. He served as the primary recruiting and video coordinator for the Beacons and helped the squad to its best season since 1981, leading the team to the ECAC East Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament championship game for the first time in school history. Eight of Pellegrini’s recruited players have gone on to play professionally.

Pellegrini began his collegiate coaching career at Nichols, where he helped turn a program that had not had a winning season in nearly 30 years, into the ECAC Northeast champions in 2009. He also served as the head coach of the Boston Junior Blackhawks and was named the 2004 IJHL Coach of the Year, and was selected to coach the league All-Star team. As a player for the Blackhawks, Pellegrini was a three-time MVP and Defenseman of the Year, and finished as the program’s all-time leading scorer.
