Meet the Crimson: Abigail Frazer
Each week, GoCrimson.com will take an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the members of the Harvard women's hockey team. Today features freshman Abigail Frazer. (Photo: Jim Pierce)
Why did you choose Harvard?
I wanted to do something different and push myself both academically and athletically.
Whom do you model your game after, and why?
As a defenseman, I try to model my game after Catherine Ward. She's smart, always making the right plays. She's offense-oriented, getting involved in the rush and just making things happen. But now that I'm playing forward, I like the game Marie-Philip Poulin plays. She is dangerous whenever she is on the ice and she can put the puck in from anywhere.
Is there any significance as to why you wear your number?
I've always worn 28
What's your favorite pregame meal?
Some pasta and a chicken breast usually does the trick.
Do you have any superstitions before getting on the ice?
I always have to tape my stick beforehand. And for some reason, even though I'm not a goalie, I have to smack both my shin pads right before we step on the ice.
What are three words you would use to describe yourself as a hockey player?
Speedy, smart, versatile
What/who are you listening to pregame?
I'm listening to whatever is playing in the dressing room.
Where are you most likely to be found in the offseason?
Either in the gym working out or on the couch watching TV.
What is your favorite thing about Cambridge/Boston?
I like the scenery! Harvard has that classic look and feel.
If you could have a superpower, which one would you chose?
I've always wanted thunder thighs.
