CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –  Harvard Athletics is saddened by the loss of longtime friend Kevin Landry '66, who passed away Thursday.

"Kevin Landry was a great friend of Harvard Athletics, and we are saddened by the news of his passing," said Bob Scalise, The Nichols Family Director of Athletics. "We will be forever grateful for Kevin's tremendous generosity over the years, and we will miss him as a friend and supporter and fan of our athletic program."

Landry, a loyal fan of Harvard Athletics, endowed the women's hockey head coach position and helped improve the overall conditions of Bright Hockey Center. Landry was also able to root on members of his family who donned Harvard uniforms, as both of Landry's daughters, Kimberly '93, and Jennifer '99, played women's hockey for the Crimson.

"The Harvard community, and all those that knew Kevin, grieve the loss of a man who enriched the lives of so many with his passion and unrelenting generosity," said Katey Stone, The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's  Ice Hockey.  "Kevin embodied everything good about Harvard.  His support to the university and Harvard hockey was driven by his sincere interest in making both the best they could be.  The best way we can honor Kevin is to always remember his presence as a true gentleman and friend, and to take pride in all that he and the Landry Family have given to our fine institution."

"Kevin Landry will always be a part of the Harvard hockey family," said Ted Donato, The Robert D. Ziff '88 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Ice Hockey. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the Landry family as we mourn the loss of one of Harvard's greatest friends. He was extremely supportive and left an indelible mark on Harvard University and Harvard Athletics in particular. He was a great role model, a devoted family man and leaves a legacy of spirit and love for Harvard."
