CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Fox College Sports has announced that it will air the Harvard at Dartmouth women's hockey game Feb. 1 live on FCS Atlantic. The 7 p.m. telecast will be available to over 60 million homes across the nation.
This will be the second time this season that the Crimson will play on national television, as its early meeting with New Hampshire was also aired on FCS Atlantic. Fox College Sports, which can be seen in all of the nation's 25 largest cities, is available on several cable providers, including Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Charter Communications, Cox Communications, Cablevision Systems, Verizon FiOS, AT&T U-Verse, Mediacom Communications and Cable One.
The ECAC and Ivy League contest between the Crimson and Big Green will be a rematch of the Nov. 30 game at Bright Hockey Center. Harvard prevailed in the earlier meeting, 6-0, behind three points apiece from Lyndsey Fry and Jillian Dempsey.
Fry and Dempsey have continued to lead Harvard's offensive, which is fifth in the nation with 4.06 goals per game, throughout the season and currently have the Crimson ranked No. 2 in the nation. Harvard also boasts the top defense in the country (0.67 goals allowed per game) and two of the best goaltenders in the NCAA. Senior Laura Bellamy is the nation's leader in goals-against average (0.54) and save percentage (.968), while freshman Emerance Maschmeyer is following close behind (0.87 GAA and .968 save percentage).
Before taking the national spotlight, Harvard will play a pair of key ECAC games this weekend at No. 7 Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
