Josephine Pucci was the highest rated player on the Harvard
roster at +24 in 2010-11 (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore Josephine Pucci of the Harvard women’s hockey team has been named to the New England Hockey Writers Division I All-Star team, the organization announced Wednesday. Pucci was one of only four defenders selected to the squad.
Pucci put together a stellar sophomore campaign for the Crimson in 2010-11, helping Harvard to a 17-11-4 final record and a berth in the ECAC tournament semifinals. She led all Harvard blueliners, and was third on the team, with 25 points on 12 goals and 13 assists and was the highest-rated player on the Harvard roster at +24. The Pearl River, N.Y., native earned All-Ivy League first team and All-ECAC Hockey second-team honors and was also a finalist for ECAC Hockey’s Best Defensive Defenseman Award.
The sophomore also earned a spot on the U.S. National Team roster for the 2010 Four Nations Cup after a strong performance at the National Festival in August led to a promotion to the senior squad. She finished the season ranked sixth in the nation in points per game for defensemen, averaging 0.83 points per contest.
