Dempsey Chosen as a Finalist for ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Freshman forward Jillian
Dempsey of the fourth-ranked Harvard women's hockey team is among
three finalists for the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year Award.
Dempsey joins Cornell defender Laura Fortino and Quinnipiac
goaltender Victoria Vigilanti as finalists.
Dempsey, a native of Winthrop, Mass., ranks second on the Crimson
with 26 points on 11 goals and 15 assists this season. She also
stands 10th in the nation among all rookies with 0.84 points per
game.
A two-time ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, Dempsey, who has
tallied Harvard's only shorthanded goal this year, scored 21 points
in league action (10-11-21). She ranked second among the
conference's freshmen with 0.95 points per game and was eighth in
ECAC Hockey play with 10 goals. Dempsey also stood 11th in
power-play scores with three.
