Spurling Named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Freshman forward Kaitlin
Spurling of the fifth-ranked Harvard women’s hockey team has
been selected as the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, the conference
office announced Monday afternoon.
Spurling, who ranks fourth on the Crimson with seven points on
four goals and three assists, netted her first career power-play
goal, coming at 16:12 of the second period in Harvard’s 2-1
win over Connecticut Dec. 8. The goal, which broke a 1-1 tie, held
up for the game-winning tally, as the Crimson extended its unbeaten
streak to eight games (6-0-2).
Harvard will return to action Friday, Jan. 8, as the Crimson will
visit Ivy League and ECAC Hockey rival Princeton at 3 p.m.
