Dempsey Earns Second Straight Selection as ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Freshman Jillian Dempsey of
the 10th-ranked Harvard women's hockey team has been honored as the
ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week for the second straight week, the
conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Dempsey, a forward from Winthrop, Mass., scored two goals and
handed out an assist in Harvard's 5-0 win over Yale Friday.
She netted the game-winning goal only 25 seconds into the contest
and lit the lamp again at th 4:48 mark of the first period.
She later assisted on a goal in the third period. On Saturday
afternoon in the Crimson's 5-1 victory at Brown, Dempsey assisted
on two power-play goals in the second period, including setting up
Cori Bassett's game-winner at 10:15.
Dempsey ranks second on the Crimson with nine points and is tied
with Kate Buesser for the team lead with five goals. With
1.00 points per game, she stands third among the nation's rookies
in scoring.
Harvard will host Dartmouth in an ECAC Hockey and Ivy League
contest at Bright Hockey Center Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.
