Ten Harvard Student-Athletes Earn 2018 Winter Academic-All Ivy Honors

Harvard Sends 10 Fencers to NCAA Championships
The Harvard fencing program’s quest for its second national title begins Thursday, March 22 as 10 Crimson fencers head to University Park, Pa. for the 2018 NCAA National Championships. Over the course of four days, Harvard will compete at the Indoor Multi-Sport Facility at Penn State for individual and team crowns as well as All-America honors. The men will compete on the strip March 22-23 to open the competition with the women closing the event March 24-25.

Kukadia Wins Gold, Four Place Within Top 10 at NCAA Regionals For No. 6 Women's Fencing
WALTHAM, Mass. – The No. 6 Harvard women’s fencing team completed competition at the NCAA Northeast Regionals tonight, March 11, hosted by Brandeis. Of the nine fencers sent to represent the Crimson, four finished within the top ten and freshman Saanchi Kukadia claimed gold with her first-place finish in epee.

Nine Fencers Qualify for NCAA Northeast Regionals from No. 6 Women's Fencing
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Nine members of the No. 6 Harvard women’s fencing team will travel to Brandeis in Waltham, Mass. this Sunday, March 11 to compete in the NCAA Northeast Regionals for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships. At last year’s Championships, the women earned a fifth-place finish, its highest placement since the 2013-14 season.

No. 6 Women's Fencing Clinches 11th-Straight Beanpot Victory
BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 6 Harvard women’s fencing team was victorious at the Beanpot tournament this Wednesday night, Feb. 14 at MIT, capturing its 11th-straight championship title. The Crimson defeated host MIT as well as Boston College and Brandeis in the annual tournament. Harvard has now won the Beanpot trophy every year since the inception of the tournament in 2007.

Gao, Wallace Earn All-Ivy Honors
PRINCETON, N.J. – Two members of the Harvard women’s fencing team have earned All-Ivy honors following the conclusion of the 2018 Ivy League Championships last weekend, Feb. 10-11, as announced by the league today. Epee fencers Cindy Gao and Shawn Wallace have been placed on the All-Ivy first team, both for the first time in their careers. Harvard has now placed at least one member on an All-Ivy team in each of the last 17 years.
