Women's Fencing Earns Program-Best Ranking at No. 2, Men Seeded Fifth

– On the first Fencing Coaches Poll of the season the Harvard women's team ranks second, the highest seeding of the squad in program history, while the Crimson men land fifth in the national poll. is the official home for the national college fencing poll. Two more polls will be released throughout the season: one in mid-February, and one in early March, prior to the NCAA Championships. With a 6-0 mark, the women's squad is off to its best start under head coach Peter Brand since Harvard matched that number to begin the 2010-11 season. The Crimson triumphed over Tufts at home Dec. 8, 22-5, to open the year before sweeping its five opponent field at the Tradition Tournament, Dec. 8.

The men's team began at the Tradition Tournament, Dec. 8 where Harvard went 4-1 only falling to Penn State, 15-12.

Both Harvard's men and women return to action Sunday, Jan. 26 when it competes at the St. John's Invitational in Queens, N.Y.
