Radcliffe Lightweight Crews Head to Grand Finals

The Black and White varsity eight, varsity four will both compete in their respective grand finals tomorrow.

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Harvard-Radcliffe lightweight crew varsity eight won its heat Saturday morning to advance to the grand final at the IRA National Championships on Mercer Lake. The Black and White clocked a time of 6:45.204 to beat out BU.

The Terriers finished in 6:48.089, just a seat ahead of Princeton (6:48.925). Radcliffe will be joined by BU, Bucknell and Stanford in the grand final Sunday, June 1 at 11:55 a.m.

In the varsity four race, the Black and White posted a strong start in its first heat, but finished second to Wisconsin with a time of 7:58.213. The four boat stayed strong, winning the repechage with a time of 8:14.979 to move on to the grand final. Radcliffe will take on BU, Fordham, Princeton, Stanford and Wisconsin tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
