Rowed the sixth seat with the varsity eight all season, helping the crew to an undefeated regular season and the EAWRC Sprints and IRA Championships titles … Named the IRA Crew of the Year … Helped set a new course record at EAWRC Sprints (6:26.536) … Part of the crew that defeated four of the top seven squads at the Lightweight Invitational to overtake the No. 1 spot in the country … Helped break the school record at the Head of the Charles (17:15.232) and finished first overall of collegiate squads.

Before Harvard

Rowed for the Oakland Strokes Rowing club under head coach Derek Byrnes from 2010-13 … Finished first at the USRowing Youth National Championships with the lightweight eight in back-to-back years (2012, 2013) … Ranked third with the women’s varsity eight at the USRowing Youth National Championships in 2013 …  Placed first with both the women’s varsity eight and the lightweight eight at the 2013 Southwest Junior Regionals … Also took first with the lights at the event in 2012 … Took second at the Head of the Charles with the women’s youth eight (2012) … First-place finisher at the Royal Canadian Henley with the women’s lightweight U23 4- … Twin sister, Ellen Pate, rows for the University of Virginia.
