No. 1 Harvard-Radcliffe Lightweight Crew to Row for Boston Saturday against MIT

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.
The Harvard-Radcliffe lightweight crew, which features the No. 1 ranked varsity eight, will row against MIT Saturday on the Charles River. Both teams will wear special "Row for Boston" shirts designed by Radcliffe's Corinne Wee to support Boston Children's Hospital after the recent tragedy's surrounding the Boston Marathon bombings.

We're No. 1
The Black and White sit at No. 1 in the most recent USRowing Collegiate Poll after outpacing then-No. 1 and defending national champion Stanford on the Charles River last weekend. The Cardinal fell to No. 2 this week and Princeton is at No. 3.

#RowForBoston
Radcliffe and MIT, along with crews from Boston University, Boston College, Holy Cross and Northeastern, will wear "Row for Boston" shirts to support the Boston Children's Hospital after the Boston Marathon bombings. Radcliffe's Corinne Wee designed the shirts, which can be purchased at bostonstrong.boathousegear.com until May 6.

Last Time Out
The top three collegiate lightweight crews took to the Charles River April 21 and the No. 2-ranked Harvard-Radcliffe varsity eight emerged as the strongest of the day. The Black and White won with open water on No. 1 Stanford, the reigning national champions, No. 3 Princeton and No. 10 Boston University during the Charles River Lightweight Invite. Radcliffe also won the second varsity event on the windy Charles.

Muri Cup (Year-by-Year Results)
The Black and White defeated MIT for the Muri Cup last year, increasing its cup series lead to 3-0. The trophy is named for Harvard men's lightweight freshman coach and former MIT standout Linda Muri.

Radcliffe will travel to Camden, N.J., May 5 for Eastern Sprints and Sacramento, Calif., May 30 for the IRA National Championships. The No. 1 ranked first varsity eight will be looking for the first national title in program history at IRAs.
