Twelve Radcliffe Athletes Earn CRCA Academic Honors
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Twelve Radcliffe crew
athletes, six lightweights and six heavyweights, are 2012
Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar Athletes, the CRCA
has announced.
Lightweight seniors Marissa Reichel (a sociology concentrator),
Jordan Taylor (economics) and Maryana Vrubel (history) were joined
on the list by junior teammates Emma Lukasiewicz (psychology) and
Veronique Irwin (sociology) as well as sophomore Devi Lockwood
(folklore and mythology).
From the Black and White heavyweight squad, seniors Jill Carlson
(classics) and Kirsten Van Fossen (engineering sciences), juniors
Scout Moran (government) and Laura Savarese (history) and
sophomores Deva Steketee (Romance languages and literature) and
Katie Wilcox (history and science) earned the academic honor.
CRCA Scholar Athletes are sophomores, juniors and seniors who row
in their team’s boats eligible for the NCAA Championships
(heavyweight varsity eight, second varsity eight, varsity four) or
IRA National Championships (lightweight varsity eight, varsity
four) for 75 percent of the spring season or the conference
championship regatta.
