CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—Senior Amanda Pfabe of the Radcliffe lightweight crew has been named an All-America selection, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced Monday. She was one of nine rowers named to the CRCA 2010 Pocock Lightweight All-America Team.
Pfabe, a team co-captain and bow seat of the Radcliffe varsity eight, guided a young Black and White squad to a third-place finish at the Eastern Association of Women’s Rowing Colleges Sprints and a fourth-place showing at the IRA National Championships. The bronze medal at Sprints was Radcliffe’s first in four years.
The Las Vegas native also led the Black and White to four dual wins. Radcliffe downed Buffalo, Georgetown, Bucknell and MIT. The team captured the Class of 2004 Cup with the victory against Georgetown and the Linda Muri Cup with the win against MIT.
Pfabe debuted in the Black and White's top boat at the 2007 IRA Regatta and has remained there throughout the three seasons since. She was the lone senior in the varsity eight for most of this season, leading the boat to an outstanding year and preparing it for success following her departure.
