No. 14 Radcliffe Heavyweight Crew to Meet No. 19 Clemson, No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 Ohio State

Strong out-of-region performances by the varsity four and other Radcliffe boats could improve the team's chances at NCAA Championships selection.

The No. 14 Radcliffe heavyweight crew wraps up its dual season against challenging out-of-region competition as it travels to Columbus, Ohio, to take on No. 4 Ohio State, No. 19 Clemson and No. 3 Michigan on the Scioto River at Griggs Reservoir.

The Black and White will first meet the Buckeyes and Tigers in three morning races before racing Clemson again, along with the Wolverines, in the afternoon. No. 2 Virginia will also be on hand, racing Michigan in the morning and Ohio State in the afternoon.

Last Time Out
Radcliffe's second varsity eight defeated Yale to highlight the Case Cup regatta last weekend on the Housatonic River. The Bulldogs won the morning's other four races, including a varsity win to recapture the Case Cup trophy that the Black and White won last season.

Last Season
Ohio State visited the Charles River to take on Radcliffe, Dartmouth and Northeastern. The Black and White won the varsity race by 2.4 seconds over the runner-up Buckeyes. Ohio State won the second varsity eight and varsity four competitions, with the Radcliffe second varsity placing second.

All five teams racing Saturday competed in last season's NCAA Championships. Radcliffe finished ahead of Ohio State and Clemson as it won the varsity eight third-level final. Virginia won the petite final, in which Michigan placed sixth.

Survey Says
Radcliffe entries rank in the top five of all five Ivy League boat polls. The second varsity eight and varsity four B are ranked second and each received one first-place vote this week. The varsity four A is ranked fourth, while the varsity and third varsity eights are both ranked fifth.
