Randy Widtfeldt joined the sports medicine staff in the fall of 2007 and works primarily with softball, women's basketball and skiing.

He earned his undergraduate degree in sports medicine in 1999 from Merrimack College. After working at Georgetown High school for two years, he went to graduate school at the University of Mississippi. At Ole Miss, he worked with football, men's basketball and women's basketball while achieving a master's degree in exercise science.

After graduate school, Widtfelt was hired as the head athletic trainer at Simmons College in Boston. He held that position for almost five years before joining the Harvard Sports Medicine staff. He is presently a resident of Haverhill, Mass., where he lives with his wife, Heather, and son, Cameron.
