Fagbenle has earned two Rookie of the Week honors (Gil Talbot).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Temi Fagbenle was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday, marking the second time this season she has earned the award.
Fagbenle helped Harvard to a 73-59 win over Providence last Tuesday, the team’s first against the Friars since 2003 and its second in as many years over a BIG EAST opponent. The sophomore scored 13 of her 15 points in the second half, and finished the night shooting 7-of-9 from the floor with three rebounds and one assist.
Fagbenle currently leads the Ancient Eight in shooting percentage (55.4%) while also ranking 12th in scoring (10.5 ppg), ninth in rebounding (5.5 rpg) and fifth in blocked shot (1.0 bpg). She earned her first career weekly award from the conference on Nov. 12 after going for 12.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 3.0 apg in the team’s first two games of the year. Harvard has now picked up at least one Ivy League award in each of the season’s first five weeks of play.
The Crimson is back in action tonight as it takes on cross-town rival Boston University at 7 p.m.
