The Harvard women's basketball team selected rising seniors Brogan Berry and Lindsay Louie to serve as captains for the 2011-12 season.

Current captains Jackie Alemany and Christine Matera 'passed the baton' to Berry and Louie at last month's end of the year banquet. Alemany and Mater wanted to start a new tradition of passing on advice to upcoming captains.

Berry, a first-team All-Ivy League recipient, joined the 1,000 point club as a junior and looks to move up the all-time scoring list in her final season. The Beavercreek, Ohio native also has her sights set on the all-time assists record. After three seasons, she ranks sixth with 397 handouts, 161 away from the program record.

Louie received the Harvard Pride award after appearing in 18 games as a sophomore. She played in 10 games this season.

Harvard, which finished the season 18-10 overall and 10-4 in Ivy League play, graduate four seniors: Jackie Alemany, Emma Markley, Christine Matera and Wheeler.
