Freshman Victoria Lippert was named Ivy League Rookie of the
Week by the conference office on Monday for her efforts in
Harvard’s 90-85 double overtime win over Northeastern on
Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Lippert recorded her first collegiate double-double in
Harvard’s only game last week. She scored 21 points and
pulled down 10 rebounds. Lippert scored 19 points after the
halftime break, including 11 in the extra frames. Her jumper with
28 seconds left in regulation forced overtime, while another basket
with three seconds on the clock in the first overtime session again
tied the score and set up another five minutes of basketball.
Lippert handed out a career-high three assists, blocked a shot and
collected a steal in the win as well. She is third on the team in
scoring with 13.6 points per game.
This is Lippert's first Ivy League honor. She was named to the
honor roll on Nov. 16.
Sophomore Brogan Berry, who led the Crimson with 31 points and
eight assists, earned a spot on the Ivy League honor roll. Berry
was named Harvard’s COOP Athlete of the Week for her
career-high in points against the Huskies.
Harvard is currently on break for final exams and will return to
the court, Tuesday, Dec. 29 at Marist. Game time is slated for 7:30
p.m.
