Markley Named Ivy Leauge Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Junior Emma Markley was named Ivy League Women’s
Basketball Player of the Week for her efforts in Harvard’s
82-81 win over Boston College Saturday night, as announced by the
conference office today.
Markley connected of 10-of-18 shots from the field for 23 points
and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Crimson. Markley’s free
throw with 15 seconds on the clock held up as the game-winning
basket. She scored 17 of her 23 points in the second half. The
Yorktown Heights, N.Y., native also had two blocks and an assist in
the win.
Markley, a second-team All-Ivy League recipient last year, was
named Ivy League Player of the Week three times in 2008-09.
Freshman Victoria Lippert was named to the honor roll. She had 14
points, four rebounds, a block and a steal in the win.
Harvard hosts Maine Tuesday, Nov. 17 in its second straight home
game of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
