Women's Basketball Volunteers at Making Strides Walk

The women’s basketball team cheered on breast cancer survivors and supporters in the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” the first weekend of October. The team traveled to Hatch Shell, the location of the starting and finishing lines, to help hang signs, set up the race, and assist with registration and merchandise tents. They also assembled snack bags available for participants the following day. On Sunday, the team participated in the 5.7 mile walk. The event helped raise funds for breast cancer research, ultimately accumulating $3.1 million with over 40,000 walking participants.
