Harvard Picked to Finish Second in Ivy League Women's Basketball Media Poll

The Harvard women’s basketball team was picked second in
the 2009-10 Ivy League Women’s Basketball Preseason Media/SID
poll. The Crimson, who finished second in the Ivy League standings
last season, garnered 115 votes, including five first-place
picks.
Harvard returns six players from last season, when the Crimson won
an impressive 19 games and made its seventh postseason appearance
in the last 14 seasons.
The media voted the eight schools in almost the exact order they
finished the 2009 season. Dartmouth, which finished first in the
media poll with 11 first-place votes and 123 total points was
selected to repeat in 2010. Princeton followed the Crimson in third
with 86 votes, while Columbia was a close fourth with 83 points.
Cornell and Yale finished in a tie for fifth with 57 votes, while
Penn (36) and Brown (19) rounded out the poll.
The Crimson opens its 2009-10 campaign at home Nov. 14 against
cross-town rival Boston College. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
