Tay Tabbed as Player of the Week For Second Straight Week
Senior co-captain Emily Tay was named the Ivy League Women's
Basketball Player of the Week Monday morning after an outstanding
weekend at home. This is Tay's second-straight award and third of
the season. She averaged 24.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds
and shot 71 percent from the field in a pair of wins for the
Crimson.
She saved her best offensive output for her final game at Lavietes
Pavilion Saturday night. Tay scored a career-high 34 points on a
15-for-19 shooting effort. She went 7-for-7 to start the game and
scored 14 of Harvard’s first 19 points. She had 20 at the
half. She also grabbed five rebounds and handed out two assists.
The night before she scored 14 points and handed out eight
assists.
Tay and the Crimson travel to Dartmouth for the second meeting of
the series. The Big Green clinched a share of the Ivy League title
on Saturday, but Harvard can earn a share of the title with a win
in Hanover, N.H. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
