Freshman Nico Weiler and senior Becky Christensen advanced to the men’s pole vault and women’s high jump finals, respectively, Wednesday afternoon at the John McDonnell Field.
June 8, 2009 Weiler Named Northeast Male Field Athlete of the Year
Harvard freshman Nico Weiler has been named the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Male Field Athlete of the Year for the Northeast region. The Ivy League, IC4A and NCAA Regional champion in the pole vault is just the second Harvard recipient of the award.
June 4, 2009 Christensen, Flahive & Richardson Named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District
Three members of the Harvard women’s track and field team were named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I team as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Senior Becky Christensen was named to the first team, while classmate Shannon Flahive and sophomore Claire Richardson were selected to the second team.
