HOUSTON, Texas –
The Harvard track and field team concluded its opening weekend of the outdoor season by sending select competitors to the Texas Southern Relays.

Senior Nikki Okwelogu picked up her second win in the discus throw this week after winning the same event at the Cougar Spring Break Invitational. Okwelogu had her best effort of the young season with her second to last throw of the day, reaching 176 feet, six inches to win the event by 12 feet.

On Friday, senior Julian Nunally earned two victories, winning both the shot put and the discus.

Nunally's victory in the shot put was an impressive showing in his second outdoor meet of the weekend, with his fourth throw of the event reaching 53 feet, 10.5 inches, his best effort of the day.

In the discus, Nunally followed up his win in the same event at the Cougar Spring Break Invitational with another winning throw, reaching 158 feet, five inches on his second effort of the event.

Freshman Jacob McLennan competed in the 400-meter hurdles for the second time this week as well, placing fifth in 54.76.

Harvard will compete at the UMass-Lowell Invite and the Hurricane Twilight Invitational on Saturday (March 25).
