Harvard Releases 2011-12 Track and Field Schedule
Harvard hosts five meets throughout the 2011-12 schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard released the 2011-12
track and field schedule, featuring numerous competitions in the
region and around the country. The Crimson will host five meets
this season, including the annual HYP indoor meet and the
Harvard-Yale outdoor meet.
The indoor season opens with the Harvard Open Dec. 10 and picks back up Jan. 20 with the Harvard Challenge, both at Gordon Indoor Track. Harvard will send athletes to the Terrier Invitational, Penn State National, Saturday at Bowdoin and Saturday at the Armory the weekend of Jan. 27-28, before returning home for the Battle of Beantown Feb. 3.
The HYP meet will take place Feb. 11 at Gordon, and is the final meet before Indoor Heps, hosted by Cornell Feb. 25-26. Indoor championship season continues with the ECAC/IC4A Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center March 2-4, and Boise State plays host to the NCAA Indoor Championships March 9-10.
Harvard’s outdoor slate begins with the Texas Southern Relays March 17, with the Stanford Invitational taking place the following Saturday in Palo Alto, Calif. Three meets dot the schedule the weekend of March 30-31: the Tufts Invitational, the Raleigh Relays and the Texas Relays. April 6-7 is another busy weekend for the Crimson with the Colonial Relays, Florida Relays and Sam Howell Invitational all on the schedule.
The Crimson will host rival Yale April 14 in the annual Harvard-Yale showdown and will send competitors to the Larry Ellis Invitational, the Holy Cross Multi-Meet and the LSU Alumni Gold Meet the following weekend. The Penn Relays begin April 26 and the Brown Springtime Invitational and the Payton Jordan Invitational take place April 29.
Penn plays host to the Outdoor Heptagonal Championships May 5-6 and Princeton hosts the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships May 11-12. The NCAA preliminary rounds will take place in Jacksonville, Fla., May 24-26 and Drake will host the NCAA Outdoor Championships June 6-9.
U.S. Junior Nationals will be held in Bloomington, Ind., June 15-17 and the U.S. Olympic Trials will take place in Eugene, Ore., June 22-30.
