Christensen Continues European Tour in Italy

LIGNANO, Italy – Becky Christensen ’09 continued her professional tour through Europe, competing in the high jump at the 22nd Meeting Internazionale di Atletica Leggera Tuesday.

The former Harvard standout placed third in the competition, clearing 1.83 meters (6’0.4”) on her third attempt and taking three solid shots at clearing 1.86 meters, which would have been an outdoor personal best for her. Ryan Deirdre of Ireland took the top spot in the competition with a clearance of 1.89 meters (6’2.4”).

“I jumped 1.83 meters and got third, so it was a decent day but nothing spectacular,” said Christensen after the meet. “There was good weather, lots of fans and the kids were trying to get every athlete's autograph. The meet was pretty cool.”

Christensen is back in competition in Pergine Valsugana, Italy.
