CAMBRIDGE
, Mass. The Harvard track and field team announced its 2010-11 indoor and outdoor schedule Monday afternoon. The Crimson is set to host four events during its indoor season and will wrap up its schedule with the storied Oxford-Cambridge meet at the end of June.

“Our entire coaching staff has put a lot of thought into our schedule,” said Jason Saretsky, director of Harvard track and field and cross country. “We feel confident the meets we have lined up will allow our student-athletes to have a great, competitive experience.”

The Crimson begins its indoor season by hosting the Harvard Open Dec. 11 and goes on to host the Harvard Challenge Jan. 22, the Harvard Multi-Meet Jan. 28 and the Battle of Beantown Feb. 4. The annual HYP meet will take place in New Haven, Conn., Feb. 12, and is followed by the Indoor Heptagonal Championships Feb. 26 at the New York City Armory. ECAC’s and IC4A’s will be held at the Reggie Lewis and BU Track and Tennis Centers, respectively, and the NCAA Indoor Championships will be hosted by Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Harvard starts its outdoor schedule with a pair of non-region meets at the Texas Southern Relays March 18 and the Stanford Invitational March 26. The annual Harvard-Yale meet will take place April 16 in New Haven, Conn., and Harvard will compete in the Penn Relays two weeks later. Yale will host the Outdoor Heptagonal Championships May 7-8, which is followed by the ECAC/IC4A Championships the next weekend. The NCAA Preliminary Round will take place in Bloomington, Ind., and Drake will serve as host of the 2011 NCAA Outdoor National Championships June 8-11. Harvard will wrap up its season with a trip to Cambridge, U.K., for the Oxford/Cambridge meet where Yale will also be in attendance.

Last season, Harvard boasted seven All-Ivy League performers between the indoor and outdoor seasons. Distance runner Claire Richardson qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 5,000 meter run and posted the second-fastest time in school history in her top-20 finish at the national meet.
