Chenoweth Earns Academic All-District Accolades

Daniel Chenoweth was named to the Academic All-District first team (Harvard Athletic Communications).

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Senior Daniel Chenoweth of the Harvard cross country and track and field teams was named to the Capital One Academic All-District men’s track and field/cross country team, the organization announced Thursday. Chenoweth received first-team accolades and represented Harvard in District 1.

A captain of the cross country team as a senior, Chenoweth capped a successful senior cross country season with first-team All-Ivy League accolades, thanks to a second-place finish at the Ivy Championships. He went on to place third at regionals to earn his third-straight All-Northeast region team honor, and competed at the NCAA Championships.

In the outdoor track season, Chenoweth earned second-team All-Ivy accolades with a runner-up finish in the 10,000 at the Heptagonal Championships. At the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., Chenoweth ran a lifetime-best time of 13:45.92 in the 5,000, eclipsing his preview personal best by nearly 12 seconds and putting him in second in Harvard history in the event. He also qualified for the NCAA East Preliminaries in the 5,000 as the fifth-ranked athlete in the East in the event.

Chenoweth now advances onto the national ballot with a chance to receive Academic All-America accolades.
