Trio Named to Track and Field All-Ivy Teams
Jessica Fronk earned her third All-Ivy accolade of her
career (David Silverman).
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Three members of the Harvard
track and field team have received All-Ivy League recognition,
based on their performances at this past weekend’s Heptagonal
Championships. Justin Grinstead was the lone representative on the
All-Ivy first team while Jessica Fronk and Nicole Sliva earned
second-team nods. The first-team All-Ivy nod is Grinstead’s
second of his career while Fronk picks up her third All-Ivy
accolade.
Grinstead captured the lone event win for the Crimson at Heps, running a time of 52.19 in the 400 meter hurdles to defend his title and earn All-Ivy first-team honors. Fronk recorded her longest throw in the javelin on her fourth of six tosses, posting a mark of 42.94 meters, just over a meter off the winning distance, to earn a spot on the All-Ivy second team. Nicole Sliva turned consistent performances throughout the competition into a second-place finish in the heptathlon, earning 4,621 points for an All-Ivy second-team bid.
Grinstead, Fronk and number of other track and field athletes are back in action this weekend at the ECAC and IC4A Championships, May 14-16.
