Track and Field Captures Pair of Third-Place Finishes at Brown Invitational

Providence, R.I. - The Harvard men’s and
women’s track and field teams turned in a pair of third-place
finishes at the Brown Invitational this weekend. The men turned in
a final score of 122 behind Rhode Island (163) and Brown (181)
while the women earned 97 points, finishing behind Rhode Island
(154.5) and Brown 225.
John Dingus turned in a solid performance for the men, capturing the 400 meter dash by over a second, turning in a time of 48.23. Darcy Wilson followed with a win in the 800 meter run, posting a time of 1:53.41 and Justin Grinstead took the 400 meter hurdle title with a time of 53.77. Kenneth Wang Kan took the title in the long jump with a leap of 6.93 meters and Jack Brady scored 10 points with a mark of 56.82 in the hammer throw. Fedor Garin helped the field score with a top mark of 4.50 meters in the pole vault and Tyler Funk chipped in a second place score in the high jump, posting a 1.94 meter mark.
Jasmine Cho ran a time of 57.71 to take the 400 meter dash on the women’s side, and Hilary May cruised to a win in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:14.45. Sydnie Leroy led the field athletes with a win in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.55 meters.
Harvard returns to action next weekend as it travels to Yale April 17.
