Track and Field Captures Three Events at Sam Howell Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. –
Facing off against a mix of non-conference and Ivy League competition, the track and field team took three event wins and had a number of other strong finishes at the Sam Howell Invitational this past weekend.  

Melissa Bellin turned in two top performances at the meet, beginning with a win in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:02.43. Bellin earned her second event win of the competition in the 4x400 meter relay, joining Magda Robak, Jasmine Cho and Shannon Conway for a winning time of 3:48.29. Ashtynn Baltimore captured the final Harvard win, taking the long jump title with a leap of 5.84 meters and Meghan Ferreira turned in a runner-up time of 14.72 in the 100 meter hurdles. Olivia Weeks took third in the triple jump with a mark of 11.95 meters and Dina Emde and Mary Hirst tied for fourth in the high jump with matching marks of 1.65 meters.  

The Crimson men got the ball rolling with a third-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay as Steven Geloneck, Jonathan Meminger, John Fahnenstiel and John Dingus earned a time of 42.35. Geloneck turned in a runner-up performance in the 100 meter dash with a mark of 10.92 and Tyler Funk took third in the high jump with a final height of 1.90 meters. Robbie Paris helped the Crimson effort with a sixth-place time of 55.00 in the 400 meter hurdles and Phil Galebach placed seventh in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 30:40.51.

Track and Field is back in action next weekend as it will send competitors to the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, Pa., and the Brown Invitational.
