Distance Medley Relays Lead Track and Field at IC4A, ECAC Championships

BOSTON, Mass. - The Harvard track and field team wrapped
up its weekend of competition at the IC4A and ECAC Championships.
The men’s team finished in a tie for 27th at the IC4A meet
while the women compiled 17.75 points to tie for 16th at the ECAC
Championships.
The men received a boost from their distance medley relay team as
the Crimson took the title after qualifying first in the event.
Jeremy Gilmour, Brian Hill, Jeff Homer and Dan Chenoweth recorded
the second-fastest time in school history, crossing the line in
9:44.18. Jack Brady and Edward Brucker finished 22nd and 24th,
respectively, in the shot put.
On the women’s side, Nicole Cochran turned in a time of
4:53.80 to take fourth place in the mile run. The women’s
distance medley took third as Thea Lee, Melissa Bellin, Carlyle
Davis and Claire Richardson combined for a time of 11:34.03. Sydnie
Leroy tied for seventh in the pole vault with a mark of 3.55 meters
and Olivia Weeks captured third in the triple jump with a leap of
12.21 meters.
The NCAA Championships take place next weekend in Fayetteville,
Ark.
