Track and Field Competes at IC4As, ECACs

BOSTON, Mass. – The track and field team competed in
the first day of the IC4A and ECAC Championships Saturday at the BU
Track and Tennis Center and the Reggie Lewis Center,
respectively.
On the men’s side, John Dingus just missed qualifying for the
finals in the 400 meter dash at the IC4As, posting a time of 47.73
in the preliminary round. The men’s distance medley relay
team of Darcy Wilson, Jeff Homer, Brian Paison and Jeremy Gilmour
qualified first, turning in a top time of 9:52.66. Ablorde Ashigbi
placed 13th in the weight throw with a mark of 16.70 meters.
On the women’s side, Ashtynn Baltimore advanced to the 60
meter hurdles semifinal where she posted a time of 8.77 to just
miss qualifying for the finals. Nicole Cochran placed sixth in the
preliminaries of the mile run with a time of 4:55.09 and Dina Emde
finished in a tie for ninth in the high jump with a mark of 1.65
meters.
Harvard is back in action tomorrow in the final day of competition
at the IC4As and ECACs.
