Strong Showings for Track and Field at Junior, Senior Nationals

DES MOINES, Iowa - A handful of current and former Crimson track and field athletes competed at the USA Track and Field Junior and Senior Nationals this past weekend.

Rising sophomore Shannon Watt started the weekend off for the Crimson with a 19th-place showing in the junior women's shot put. Watt recorded her best mark on her first of three throws, posting a distance of 13.21 meters. Classmate Melissa Bellin competed in the 400 meter hurdles and took 18th with a time of 1:03.78.

Former All-American Becky Christensen '09 competed in the women's senior high jump and placed 10th in the event, recording a 1.75 meter clearance. Harvard volunteer assistant coach Chris Bryce also competed in the men's hammer throw Saturday afternoon.
