Track and Field Competes at USATF New England Indoor Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s and
women’s track and field teams competed at the USATF New
England Championship Meet Sunday at Gordon Indoor Track.
Sophomore Magdalena Robak turned in two strong efforts for the
women’s team, posting an eighth-place time of 27.22 in the
200 meter dash and a third-place mark of 1:00.53 in the 400 meter
dash. Junior Jamie Olson placed second in the 800 meter run with a
time of 2:16.65 and classmate Claire Richardson also placed second,
finishing the 1,500 meter run in 4:34.71. Kara Hollis posted a mark
of 5.19 meters in the long jump, good for sixth place, and finished
ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.83 meters.
Junior Dan Chenoweth led the men with a first-place finish in the
mile, posting a time of 4:13.73. Freshman Joe Brancale came in
sixth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:28.20, and freshman
Blaine Bolus finished third (14.00 meters) and ninth (6.43 meters)
in the triple and long jumps, respectively.
Harvard is back in action this weekend as it travels to Hanover,
N.H., for the Heptagonal Championships, hosted by Dartmouth Feb.
