Three Crimson Track and Field Athletes Compete at Multi Meet

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Three members of the
Harvard women’s track and field team competed at the Harvard
Multi Meet Friday and Saturday at Gordon Indoor Track. Sophomore
Nicole Sliva finished third and classmate Christine Reed placed
fourth in the pentathlon. Newcomer Mary Hirst finished ninth in her
first collegiate multi event.
Sliva scored 3,161 points in the event is 31 points higher than
her personal best set in the event at the Indoor Heps last winter.
Reed posted 3,159 points, while Hirst totaled 2,743 points.
Hirst had the best showing of all 10 competitors in the shot put,
tossing the shot 10.83meters to pick up 534 points. Reed finished
second in the 60 meter hurdles, long jump and 800 meters.
Olympic gold medalist Bryan Clay competed at the meet for Nike. He
finished fourth in the heptathlon behind Maurice King (Puma), Aaron
King (unattached) and Sean Smith (unattached).
