Christensen Finishes Seventh at US Nationals

EUGENE, Ore. - Becky Christensen ’09 was one of 15 women to compete in the high jump final Thursday ngiht at the 2009 USA Track and Field National Championships on the campus of the University of Oregon.

Christensen, who competed at the Olympic Trials at Haywood Field last June, cleared 1.78 meters to finish seventh overall. She was one of 11 athletes to clear opening height and one of nine to do so on their first attempt. Chaunte Howard of Nike won the event with a clearance of 1.95 meters.

Christensen, one of Harvard’s most decorated female track and field athlete, was a four-time All-American and six time Heptagonal champion for the Crimson. She will continue to train at Harvard and compete nationally and internationally in the high jump.
